Case study 08 · AA Home Improvements
A local contractor website that lets real work build trust.

01 Project snapshot
A service website for homeowners who want proof before they call.
AA Home Improvements is a locally owned roofing and home improvement contractor serving Statesboro and Southeast Georgia since 2017. Roofing is the core of the business, alongside gutters, flooring and carpentry, and painting.
Homeowners comparing contractors want to know what the company does, whether it serves their town, how the work is done and whether the jobs are real—before they pick up the phone. The website is built to answer those questions in that order.
- Business context
- Locally owned roofing and home improvement contractor, founded by a roofer who started on rooftops as a teenager.
- Service area
- Statesboro, Brooklet, Portal, Register and communities across Southeast Georgia.
- Key content
- Four service pages with 14 sub-services, a founder story, a categorized project gallery, customer reviews, and booking by form, phone or WhatsApp.
- Primary audience
- Homeowners—and builders for new-construction roofing—in Southeast Georgia.
02 The challenge
Local contractors compete on trust—and on being found nearby.
A homeowner deciding who to let on their roof looks for three things quickly: what the contractor does, whether they serve the area and whether the work is real. Generic service lists and stock photos answer none of them.
The business also covers a wide range of work, from storm-damage roof repairs to cabinets and decks. The website had to show that range without burying roofing, the service most homeowners arrive for.
03 Goals
Answer a homeowner's first questions fast—and make booking easy.
- State the service area, including named towns, from the first screen.
- Lead with roofing, then organize the rest into four service groups with specific sub-services.
- Explain how each job is done, not just list it.
- Show only real project photos, grouped by type of work.
- Put a booking form, phone and WhatsApp on every service page.
- Make each page clearly about Statesboro-area work for local search.
04 Strategy & structure
Services, proof and contact in the order a homeowner needs them.
The homepage moves from the service area to the four service groups—Roofing, Gutters, Flooring & Carpentry and Painting—then to reasons to choose the company, recent projects and customer reviews.
Each service group has its own page with tabs for its sub-services: roof replacement, metal roofing, roof repair and new-construction roofing; new gutters and gutter repair; LVP flooring, doors, windows, cabinets, and fencing & decking; and interior painting. Every sub-service explains the process step by step. The roof replacement section, for example, walks from inspection and quote to tear-off, underlayment, flashing, ventilation and cleanup.
The roof repair section also covers storm-damage inspections documented for insurance claims, a common reason homeowners search for a roofer after bad weather. The About page tells the founder's story—"This company didn't start in an office. It started on rooftops."—and lists the towns served.
05 Visual direction
Real job-site photography and plain language.
The design uses the company's own project photography rather than stock images, with a light blue palette, straightforward headings and short, direct copy. The About page states that all portfolio photos are real projects.
Service tabs, project tiles and the booking form are laid out to work one-handed on a phone, where most local searches happen.
06 WordPress build
A WordPress site with a project gallery that keeps growing.
Completed jobs are published as individual project pages in a gallery that can be filtered by category—roof, gutters, flooring, carpentry, painting and window repair—so new work can be added in the right place as it happens.
Each service page ends with a "Book a Service" form whose service dropdown matches the site's structure. Phone and WhatsApp links are one tap away.
Every page has its own local title and description ("…in Statesboro, GA"), with Organization, WebPage and breadcrumb structured data and Google Site Kit connected for measurement.
07 Outcome
A clearer local presence built on real work.
Homeowners can see the full range of services, how each job is done, the towns served and a gallery of completed projects, then book, call or message from any page. The project gallery gives the business a simple way to keep adding proof as new jobs are completed.
08 Page gallery
Key pages in the experience.
